Nicaragua Animals and Plants - Wildlife in the Jungle and Cloud forests of Nicaragua.

Howler monkeys, birds and more are seen every day in Nicaragua on our jungle tours.

Since, these entire canopy tour installations are located on the pacific lowland of Nicaragua but in different height, their wildlife is almost similar and in general term howler and white-faced monkeys, parrots, blue jays, iguanas, among others can be found.

Birds:

Mag Pie Blue Jay (Calocitta Formosa), Turquoise-Brown Motmot (Eumomota Superciliosa) this is Nicaragua National Bird, Keel-billed toucan (Ramphastus sulfuratus), Montezuma Oropendola (Gymnostinops Montezuma), Turkey Vulture (Catharthes aura), orange-fronted parakeet (Aratinga canicularis), among others.

Mammals:

Squirrel (Sciurue variegatoides), Opossum (Didelphis marsupials), White-nosed Coati (Nasua narica), Paca (Agouti paca), Howler Monkeys (Alouta Paliata), White Faced Monkeys (Cebus Capucinus), among others.

The Mombacho Volcano Natural Reserve is home to much specie of animals that are found in this cloud forest in different areas around the volcano.

Blue morphos butterfly, cougars, tapirs, sloths, howler and white-faced monkeys, iguanas, rabbits, ocelot, paca, squirrel, opossum, among others.
